TWU (81) Vs. Colorado Mines (72) (Women’s Basketball) – Texas Woman’s University won a big game against the Colorado Mines to advance themselves to the top 16. They play UT Tyler where they have the opportunity to advance to the elite 8.

Univ. North Texas (78) Vs. SMU (65) Women’s Basketball
Mean Green Wbb for the first time has beaten SMU twice in a single season. They were led by Dyani Robinson 22pts,6asts, & 3rebs, including dropping 15pts in the second half to equal 22pts. Tommisha Lampkin reached her 7th double double of the season, second in a row 16pts, 10rebs, & 2stls.
SMU fought hard but couldn’t pull out in the 4th quarter. SMU led by Center Amirah Abdur-Rahim with 21pts, 9rebs, 2blks, & 4stls. I like Amirahs length around the rim rebounding and defending the post. Tiara Young finished with 15pts, 3rebs, & 1stl. Hope everyone enjoys the highlight’s!
Univ. North Texas (72) Vs. Wichita State Univ. (68) (Women’s Basketball)

Mean Green Women’s Basketball Team had a remarkable come back against Wichita State. With Mean Greens’ backs against the wall for the first three quarters Coach Jason Burton (coaching staff) came out in the fourth quarter hitting hard. DesiRay Kernal & Dyani Robinson each made 11points in the 4th quarter along with Tommisha Lampkin eight points to add to the 3 point victory. Kernal had a big game on her 23rd Birthday with 21pts, 9rebs, 2asts, 1stl, & 2to. Lampkins with 12pts, 6rebs, 1ast, 2blks, & 4to, and Robinson 15pts, 5rebs, 4asts, and 5to. Mean Green will face SMU (Dallas, Tx) Jan 17, 2024 at 7pm.
Wichita State Shockers had the lead defensively with the zone until the fourth quarter where North Texas pulled away winning by three in the final minutes of the game. Freshman Salese Blow of Plano, Texas played big down the stretch with some big three pointers, key ball movement plays, and attacking the rim aggressively when needed. Defensively she guarded multiple positions to keep her team within striking distance late in the fourth. Although she couldn’t quite help pull out the victory Blow had 23pts, 2rebs, 4asts, & 3to (35mins). Daniela Abies hit the boards hard, defended well, and made a few tough baskets in the 4th to keep a fighting chance for the Shockers. Abies finished with 9pts, 11rebs, 1ast, 3stls, & 1to. Wichita State will face Memphis University Jan 17, 2024 at 6pm.

Texas Women’s Univ. (64) Vs. Texas A&M Kingsville (54) Women’s Basketball

Texas Women’s University played very well against Kingsville winning by 10. TWU had the lead all game, with good defensive rotations, and rebounding the ball on both ends. Kingsville attempted to push back entering within 10 points of a comeback but feel short to TWU offensive presence around the basket.

Univ. North Texas (84) Vs. Alcorn State Univ. (50) (Women’s Basketball)

UNT Mean Green women’s basketball program just made history Saturday night (Dec 9, 2023) going 9 -1 under Jason Burton first year as head coach. This is the best 10 game start in UNT history. They’ve gone on a 7 game win streak, longest streak since 2000-2001 season. Once again DesiRay Kernal with a strong performance 19pts, 10rebs, 3asts, 2stls, & 1to to seal a 34 point win over Alcorn State. I love Kernals heart and will to win on the court. I also like her personality listening to her motivate the team, she’s also a good teammate from the bench. Either way Kernal is a good piece to have on any professional basketball league/team. Shamaryah Duncan had 19pts, 2rebs, 1blk, & 2to. Ducan is a underrated SG/SF who can change the momentum of the game at any time. Alcorn State fought but wasn’t a match for UNT.
Alcorn led by Zy’Nyia White with 19pts, 4rebs, 3stls, & 4to. Player to watch for Alcorn is Nakia Cheatham. She didn’t have the best shooting night, but watching her play she could be a go to piece. She showed toughness around the basket, able to get to the free throw line, just needs to play with more defensive intensity. UNT will face Louisiana Ragin Cajuns on Dec 17, 2023 on ESPN+. Hope everyone enjoys the highlights.
Texas Woman’s Univ. (77) Vs. Oklahoma Christian Univ. (52) (Women’s Basketball)

Texas Woman’s Univ. played very diverse shooting (27-49FG/55.1%) from the field, and 25points off turnovers on the defensive end. TWU’s Scout Huffman she was the leading scorer with 26pts, 1reb, 2asts, and 1to. She made some clutch shots to keep the lead going when Oklahoma Christian started to gain momentum in the 3rd. Ashley Ingram grabbed 10rebs, passed for 7asts, scoring 10pts for the night (8-10: free throws). TWU is 12-3 on the season 7-1 home record. TWU will go on to play St. Mary’s (San Antonio, Texas) Jan 11th, 2024 at 5;30pm: Bill Greehey Arena.
Oklahoma Christian caught a second wind in the third quarter rallying the team back into striking range. They were led by Daijah Torns with 11pts, 6rebs, 1st, 1to, 1blk, & 1stl. Oklahoma Christian shot 75% from the free throw line but couldn’t pull out the win. Hope Everyone enjoys the highlights.
Univ. North Texas (83) Vs. Grambling State Univ. (60) (Women’s Basketball)

Univ. of North Texas Meangreen basketball kicked off game 2 with determination to win. Jaaucklyn Moore (Guard: #4/Height: 5’9) lit the gym on fire last night reaching 1,000 college career points at UNT (Previous College: UIW). Moore completed the night with 24pts, 2rebs, 1ast, & 2stls. Another UNT player to watch is DesiRay Kernal (Forward: #10/Height: 6’0). I admire her personality! Very aggressive, funny, yet at the same time focused on her role. She knows how to use her emotions to rally her teammates to the next level of play. Kernal completed the night with 18pts, 11rebs, 4asts, & 4stls. UNT played very well together down the stretch, even late into the 4th where they picked it up to carry out a 23 point win. UNT will play Texas A&M Nov. 12 at 2:00pm.
Grambling State made a run late 2nd into the 3rd quarter, but couldn’t close out a victory. After closing the gap to 12 mid way through the game, they were led by DoutHshine Prien (Guard: #1/Height: 5’7). She played hard. She rotated into passing lanes turning into steals and fast break baskets. She ended the game after fouling out with 12pts, 3rebs, & 2ast. Anijah Grant (Forward: #15/Height: 6’2) worked around the glass for second chance points, defensively keeping Lampkins (UNT) from scoring double digits. Grant finished with 14pts, & 5rebs. Grambling state didn’t have the best shooting night overall but with their pieces I look forward to see what they do against South Florida. Special thanks again to Doug Waters and the UNT family for welcoming AFi into the Super Pit! Hope everyone enjoys the highlights! #afincorp IG: afi_ncorp @aviatingfrequenciesinc
Univ. North Texas (100) Vs. Oklahoma Christian Univ. (63) Women’s Basketball (Exhibition Game)

North Texas women’s basketball team looks really good this year. The ball movement, and shot selection open the court for their bigs to rebound and dominate the paint! Defensively they kept Oklahoma Christian off the offensive boards, didn’t allow many second chance opportunities, took charges, and turned the passing lanes into fast break points.
Oklahoma Christian have potential pieces that could impact their season. They kept composure, defended the ball, and took some shots to keep their team going! OKCU has a freshman guard Jordan Gregory from Mills University High School (Little Rock, Ar) in my opinion with development into a true point guard by assisting, getting long rebounds, facilitating, understanding horns offense, and learning the pick and roll options into clutch decisions could become a impact player. Special thanks to Doug Waters for allowing me the opportunity to film at the Super Pit! Hope everyone enjoys the highlights!
